International Literacy Day, September 8 from 4 to 6 pm at the LPM office. LAUNCH of Learner Speaker Bureau 99 - 2000, and the Website and Real Audio Testimonials of Adult Learners from Manitoba. Refreshments and technology demonstrations for all.

Sunday, September 12 from 2 to 5 pm. Margaret Laurence Award at the Morden Park. See enclosed invitation.

Friday, September 24: Frontier College 100th anniversary celebration with displays/recruiting tables and cake, balloons, banners at the U of M and U of Winnipeg campuses on that day.

Also there will be a Heritage Minute (PSA) marking FC's 100th anniversary, appearing on TV and in theatres later this summer. It will be similar to the CIBC YouthVision spot that features a historical look at our labourer/teachers and Wayne Gretzky with young teens

The inmates at Headingly jail are looking for simple volunteer opportunities that can be done at the Institution (e.g., envelope stuffing). Their supervisor contacted us and he stressed the importance of simple tasks.
