Calling All Golfers! LPM has participated in 3 corporate planning meetings for the 1998 Manitoba PGI, to be held June 3rd at Pine Ridge Golf Club. Please call us with names of potential golfers or prize sponsors for this prestigious event. We have already logged hundreds of hours of support work as the new Communications Central office for PGI Manitoba. Plans are underway for a great event. National sponsors are all back on board to date. Local sponsors are sought now!!! We have 85 golfers lined up to tee off for the event already. Help us recruit 60 more!! LPMs share of the 1997 PGI funds benefited all programs by underwriting the publication of the Manitoba Literacy Star learner newspaper, and provisions and resources for the lending library.
Literacy Star Learner Newspaper Hot Off The Press Congratulation on the publication of the Manitoba Literacy Star, under the able direction of Eileen Cable. Many glitches were encountered in formatting this issue. Learners from Dauphin suggested that each program be requested to appoint a reporter to file an anecdotal report on their program this spring, to include factual information, instead of just a focus on learners stories.Copies of the learner newspaper will be distributed this spring to affiliated programs. Send in new material for the 1998 edition to LPM before June 28, 1998. |
