Frontier College Students for Literacy Tutor training workshop at the University of Winnipeg the weekend of November 7 and 8… so far we have a number of university students, and I am inviting some of our community partners … folks who will be welcoming our volunteer tutors so its’ good if they are familiar with our tutoring techniques…
If you get any calls from people wanting to get involved, please feel free to pass them on to us… if you think they’d like to work at our afterschool kids or teen programs. They are combination of reading circles (helping kids with their reading) and homework clubs… where kids bring their school work, and our volunteers assist or encourage them.

Fetal Alcohol Support Network of Manitoba is a group of people who care for alcohol affected individuals. We meet once a month. at 831 Portage Avenue 3rd floor Boardroom on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. For more information call Kathy Enns 633-0853

Volunteer Centre of Winnipeg now has a new computer with Internet access for its members. You can access the Canadian Centre for Philanthropy Foundation Guide which lists the private granting bodies in Canada on the internet or in book form. Osborne Village Resource Centre has a Personal Development Workshop Series These happen the 4th Monday of each month from 6 – 8 pm. Workshops include Stress Management, Communication Skills, and Conflict Resolution. For more information or to register call 989-6503
