Message from the President

Great things are happening! Literacy Partners of Manitoba has settled in its new location and is working on many new and renovative ideas for the coming year.

A BIG thank you to all the individuals who helped with the move and the staff for their hard work in getting things back in order so quickly.

Literacy Partners is focusing a great deal of attention on promoting the cause of literacy to the business community and the public at large. We feel that it is extremely important that we receive support from all sectors.

We are involved in many coming events :

* The Superior Propane Family BBQ for Literacy, June 1st at 1248 Wilkes in Winnipeg.

* Peter Gzowski Golf Tournament for Literacy at Glendale Golf and Country Club on June 19.

* Country, Country, Country Social Fundraiser in Dauphin, September 7th.

* The Margaret Laurence Award for Volunteer Literacy Tutors recognition ceremony in Neepawa at the Margaret Laurence Museum on September 8th.

* Gala Dinner for Literacy at Grapes on Main after the Open House at our new location and official Ribbon cutting ceremony to honour the donation of $10,000 worth of Panasonic computer equipment from Matsushita Electric of Canada Ltd.

Plans are also underway for our Annual General Meeting, to be held November 22 and 23.
