Canadian Public Health Association The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) is a national, independent, not-for-profit, voluntary association representing public health in Canada. They have excellent research data and plain language tools for health literacy. Dyslexia Parents Resource is an excellent parent and teacher resources for working with those diagnosed with dyslexia. The Educator's Reference Desk The Educator's Reference Desk provides high-quality resources and services to the education community, with 2,000+ lesson plans, 3,000+ links to online education information, and 200+ question archive responses. Literacies - Researching Practice and Practicing Research Literacies is a magazine from Canada about adult literacy research and practice. It was funded until April 2009 and published last in the spring 2010 issue of Community Literacies Journal. They continue to talk about adult literacy research and practice wherever and whenever they can, including on a blog. MedlinePlus Interactive Health Tutorials MedlinePlus presents interactive health tutorials from the Patient Education Institute. Each tutorial includes animated graphics, audio, and easy-to-read language. Nutrition Resources are for adult and family literacy practitioners to use with students. They include lesson plans and background information. Patient Education Resources in Plain Language is an annotated list of websites which offer health education material in plain language. Washington Learning Systems Free parent-child learning materials and family literacy resources are available for downloading. |
