Be a volunteer tutor continued...
The learning centre or the Province of Manitoba’s Adult Learning and Literacy Branch provide the training. Literacy Partners acts as the link between potential volunteers and a literacy program that suit their availability and preferences. We will also conduct an orientation session for new volunteers to provide them with an overview of literacy in Manitoba and connect them with a group of practicing tutors.
The picture below shows our “volunteer” – Volunteer Coordinator, Carin Crowe, coaching two learners at the Learner Speakers’ Training this year. Carin enjoyed working with the adults so much that she volunteered to help us improve volunteer satisfaction and retention this year. Carin is a retired volunteer coordinator with many years of experience.
