We invite you to send in your writing to be considered. Be sure to send your best work.
Here are rules to remember:

----We will only think about using writing from learners' work with a program that is a member
----of Literacy Partners of Manitoba.
----Your writing must be your own.
----Your writing must be one-of-a-kind.
----What you write about is up to you.
----Please use suitable language.
----Send poetry or prose up 4 pages long.
----Email your writing in Word format to: communications@mb.literacy.ca
----Send your photo and an author bio up to 200 words long with your writing.
----We need your permission to publish your writing. Please sign our release form and fax it to (204) 956-9315
----We will only feature a writer once.

FAQ

Really? I can only be featured once?
Yes. It’s only fair to give everyone a chance to have his or her work featured.

I’ve never written a bio. Do you have any tips?
A bio tells people about you and what inspires you to write. You’ll find author bios on the back cover of books. You could include where you grew up, what kind of work you do, what you enjoy doing in your spare time, or anything you would like us readers to know about you.

Do I really need to send a photo?
Yes. Please email photos (preferably in jpeg format) to communications@mb.literacy.ca. If you don’t have a digital photo, please mail a good quality, colour photo to the LPM offices. Once I’ve scanned it, I will return it.

What do I need to send?

When is the deadline?
There is no deadline. You can send writing any time throughout the year.
If you are sending in writing with a seasonal topic (spring, summer vacation, Christmas), please send your piece at least 6 weeks before the best time of year to feature your writing.
