Learn Line poster sent out to community
The new LEARN Line poster has been sent to 750 community and recreation centres, social service agencies, medical clinics, libraries, churches, senior centres, Thrift Stores, Adult Learning Centres, EAL Programs, School Division Offices and Elementary Schools in Winnipeg.
A similar promotion is planned for Brandon, Portage, The Pas, Thompson, Dauphin, Flin Flon, Selkirk, Swan River, Steinbach, Minnedosa, and Virden later this spring or early next fall.
Phone calls from learners who saw this poster at church, at their community club, or at one of the other locations where it has been posted have already begun.
A spin off that we didn’t expect has been calls from service agencies that work with low literacy groups. The agencies were seeking more information for their clients. This has resulted in two speaking engagements for our Learner Speakers’ Bureau to reach out to potential literacy learners.
