Open House 2006

Representatives from LPM's sponsors and partners mingled with literacy instructors and students at the Open House on September 7. One of the highlights of the gathering was the announcement by Richard Frost of the Winnipeg Foundation that the Literacy Life Funs had reached $2 million. Education and Training Minister Diane McGifford once again broght greetings from the government and proclaimed September 8 International Literacy Day. A new announcment this year was the proclamation of September as Literacy Month in Manitoba. The enthusiastic response promised a great year for literacy in 2006-2007.
