Representatives
from LPM's sponsors and partners mingled with literacy instructors and
students at the Open House on September 7. One of the highlights of the
gathering was the announcement by Richard Frost of the Winnipeg
Foundation that the Literacy Life Funs had reached $2 million.
Education and Training Minister Diane McGifford once again broght
greetings from the government and proclaimed September 8 International
Literacy Day. A new announcment this year was the proclamation of
September as Literacy Month in Manitoba. The enthusiastic response
promised a great year for literacy in 2006-2007.
