Andrews Street Family Clinic launches series of plain language drug awareness pamphlets

At the Andrews Street Clinic they speak not of a drug experience that has a "longer duration of action" (Health Canada pamphlet for children), but "a high that lasts 4-8 hours". In other words, they speak a language their clients understand.

Jennifer Hagedorn, Drug Strategy Coordinator. has developed a series of "street pamphlets" written in very basic language. These simple, informative, objective pamplets are made available in all the places where drug users hang out.

LPM is proud to have advised the Cllinic on the language used in the pamphlets and to have trained two of their staff members at our plain language workshops.

The Andrews Street Family Clinic welcomes enquiries (589-1721) about their drug awareness strategy and any of their other programs.
