Double your donation to literacy by taking advantage of matching funds!
The
Literacy for Life Fund was established in early 2003 by three partner
organizations: Literacy Partners of Manitoba, Winnipeg Public Library,
and The Winnipeg Foundation. The Fund was established to address low
literacy rates in Manitoba and improve the well-being of individuals,
families and the community.
The Literacy for Life Fund has received generous support from the National Literacy Secretariat (NLS), which has been matching all donations made to the fund, dollar for dollar. This matching support will end in September 2006. Approximately $90,000 remains available to the Fund through the NLS matching program. To take full advantage of this opportunity, The Literacy for Life Fund is seeking community support to develop the fund to its fullest potential.
Gifts made to the fund are permanently invested and the principal is never spent, generating income each year which supports family literacy programming across the province.
