Debra's bio

I am a born-and-bred Manitoban, raised in Brandon, a graduate of University of Winnipeg and the Library Technician Program at Red River College (many, many years ago!). After returning from Calgary a few years ago and attempting a career change, I found myself in a struggle to fit into my new career – it didn’t fit. As fate would have it, LPM and I found each other quite unexpectedly and I’m excited to be on board to contribute what I can to this so worthwhile organization.

My library background includes employment at St. Paul's College ( University of Manitoba) and the Winnipeg Police Training Division in Winnipeg, and Mount Royal College, St. Mary's College, and TransCanada Pipelines in Calgary.

My other experience includes office situations at the University of Calgary, University of Manitoba, law firms, and various temporary assignments. Volunteer experience has found me being a literacy tutor, involved with the PGI, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, Theatre Calgary, Grey Cup 2000, and Figure Skating Nationals.

I feel thrilled to have this opportunity to work at what I enjoy and I’m looking forward to using my “Heinz 57” skills package to promote and participate in the life of LPM's Resource Centre.
